I teach undergraduate nursing students from the UWSON in clinical at UWMC. We have many students from a variety of programs and integrating interprofessional education is what I do on the units with students.  Students collaborate with medical and pharmacy students during rounds.

Over the past two years I have been heavily involved in the development of interprofessional education at the University of Washington, participating in the Macy Capstone synthesis with Dr. Zierler in May/June 2011 as well as working with Dr Daniel Low in UW’s WISH lab with students during his talk to medical students during their anesthesia rotation.

In the IPE Teaching Scholars program I hope to gain more tools to work with students in the future as our healthcare environment continues to challenge our skills.  I believe that teamwork and good communication will serve our patients and families better.
