I am currently a fellow in the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I have the opportunity and privilege to teach medical students, interns, and residents in a variety of settings. My teaching responsibilities include helping to co-lead small group sessions for the 2nd year medical students pulmonary course, leading student seminars for the 4th year medical students, as well as teaching medical students and residents in less formal settings while on service in the intensive care unit.
As I participate in the Teaching Scholars Program this year, I am excited to learn and develop new skills as a teacher and to apply these skills in my endeavors. I am particularly interested in the role of technology in education and am working with a multidisciplinary group to develop a critical care ultrasound curriculum for critical care fellows. As our ICU teams grow to include more professionals (not just MDs), I foresee that this training will be available for all members of our team participating in patient care. In addition, I am compiling a cohesive ICU curriculum for residents across our three hospitals.
