IPE Scholars Program
The 2011-2012 Teaching Scholars Program cohort is the largest and most interprofessional in the program’s history thanks to funding from the UW Macy Grant Team. Grant PIs Brenda Zierler and Brian Ross successfully sought and received funding to fund eight scholars committed to interprofessional education (IPE) at the University of Washington. This unique collaboration between the UW Macy Grant Team and the UW Teaching Scholars Program was forged to leverage existing Faculty Development resources and infrastructure and create an intentional venue for peer learning about IPE. IPE content and experiences will be integrated into the existing curriculum, which is designed so that Scholars teach each other, with guidance from Program Director Lynne Robins, Co-Director Jan Carline, and the interprofessional UW Macy Grant Team faculty.
When they graduate from the Teaching Scholars Program, these eight individuals will greatly expand the cadre of UW faculty prepared to further IPE initiatives at the UW and ensure that IPE becomes a part of our culture of practice through an IPE Scholars Program. Learn more about them below.
