Our Offerings

We have developed a number of comprehensive interprofessional cases and curricula provided to students at the UW. All materials are free to download and may be modified to meet the needs of your particular interprofessional courses or programs.

Elizabeth: Typical or Troubled Teen?

This training case is designed to help health professions students and trainees recognize and report child maltreatment. The curriculum aims to actively engage interprofessional teams to discuss an unfolding case, develop a plan of care, and foster greater understanding between the health professions involved and how they can collaborate to improve patient care.

Error Disclosure Training Toolkit

This IPE Toolkit is intended for educators involved in providing interprofessional education for students and trainees.  It provides a packaged interprofessional team training session using error disclosure simulation/role-play as the vector by which health professional students and trainees can learn together to develop and improve team and communication skills.

i-TEETH Pediatric Oral Health Curriculum

The Interprofessional Teams Engaged in Education and Training for Optimal Health curriculum introduces oral health, growth and development, and principles of interprofessional collaborative practice to trainees in advanced practice nursing (second-year pediatric nurse practitioner, doctor of nursing practice) or primary care trainees and pediatric dental residents.

Jessica & Caleb—Moms & Babies

This training case is designed to actively engage interprofessional teams of health professions students and trainees to discuss an unfolding case, develop a plan of care for a mother-baby dyad and introduce or reinforce understanding of the four IPEC competencies (Values & Ethics, Roles & Responsibilities, Interprofessional Communication, and Teams & Teamwork) and foster greater understanding between the health professions involved and how they can collaborate to improve patient care.

Mr. Kim—Geriatric Oral Health

This training case is designed to actively engage interprofessional teams of health professions students and trainees to discuss an unfolding case, develop a plan of care for an elderly Korean-American man with with a history of several chronic diseases, newly onset oral health issues, and changes in cognitive functioning, introduce or reinforce understanding of the four IPEC competency domains and foster greater understanding between the health professions involved and how they can collaborate to improve patient care.

Patient-Centered Medical Home Model Curriculum

This curriculum introduces concepts of the medical home and coordinated care visits. This program was originally designed for trainees in doctor of nursing practice, doctor of pharmacy (third professional year), and undergraduate nursing programs.

Simulation Team Training Toolkit

This toolkit is intended for educators involved in training interprofessional teams of students, trainees and novice faculty participating in team simulation training sessions in a simulation lab or similar learning environment. It provides a packaged interprofessional team training session.
